Annual Bruce Beach BBQ
ANNUAL BRUCE BEACH BBQ
CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19
Bruce Beach BBQ
Saturday August 3, 2019
A fun time was had by all at our 2019 BBQ. It was a beautiful evening, with good food, good music and great company. We heard a lot of good feedback about the bring your own dessert change. Families brought homemade pies, cakes, tarts and squares. As it was a success, we are going to do the same thing this year.
Thank you to all the volunteers that made the BBQ a success. The activities that require volunteer help start well before the summer begins and go until the day after the BBQ year after year. From booking the tent, the caterer, organizing the music, selling the tickets and don’t forget the port-a-potties. To setting up and taking down fences, tables and chairs. And many Beachers' favourite position, bartending. It’s a great spot to be as you get the opportunity to see and talk to many different people throughout the evening.
A big thank you to Anne and Andre for all their help over the years. They have taken on many of the volunteer activities and have helped make the event run smoothly and successfully each year. In addition, a big thank you to Karen Gaudino for once again supplying all of the beer.
We are currently planning for the 2020 BBQ and this year it is scheduled to be held on Saturday, August 1st. Summer seems far faraway at this point, but given the unprecedented times we are in, we are considering that these plans may need to change this year. At this point, please consider the BBQ on. If something changes, we will send out a communication closer to the date.
Burke’s catering will be back again to satisfy our appetites. There will be music and tables and chairs provided for your convenience. All we need to go with that is perfect weather and 500 friends and family to make it a great night. Please don’t be disappointed, purchase your tickets as early as possible. We have sold out in previous years, so do your best to plan ahead and get your tickets.
Tickets prices will increase this year to $22 for adults and $12 for children 3-10. Under 3 is free.
The price increase is due to an increase in the catering costs.
